License plate camera enforcement in Assen

From Monday, December 19, 12:00 noon, 13 license plate cameras from Brickyard, witch are placed around the walking area in the city center of the Municipality of Assen, will regulate traffic and also enforce existing traffic rules. This contributes to an attractive city center for both residents and visitors.

The rules apply to motorized vehicles in the city center of Assen. Part of the city center has been designated as a pedestrian zone. Motorized traffic is in principle only allowed in the pedestrian zone within the so-called time windows. With a targeted exemption policy, exceptions can be made for motorized traffic, for example in cases of emergency.
