BRICKYARD PROVIDES THE CENTER AREA OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF HEERENVEEN WITH CAMERA ENFORCEMENT

Camerahandhaving Stadscentrum Heerenveen

The movable bollards (pollers) that were installed in 2006 to make the center area of Heerenveen car-free, will be replaced by eight ANPR cameras that automatically read license plates and check whether the vehicle is authorized to enter the area.

The municipality has engaged Brickyard to take care of the delivery, installation and implementation of the cameras and management software.

The new cameras will prevent malfunctions and high repair costs of the old bollards, which will improve the safety and well-being of residents.

The privacy policy meets the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Violations are registered and the violators’ license plates are kept for a maximum of five years. The first camera mast was installed on the Koemarkt in Heerenveen in the first week of April 2023 and the cameras and software will be live from the end of the first week of April.
